- North-South line of stakes set into base of N-S aligned pit/ditch. The stakes have all been snapped off at just above the level of the cut and it is possible that the stakes were cut by the pit/ditch rather than being set into the base. This may mean that they were a pre-existing revetment HOWEVER the alignment is closely matched by the N-S pit/ditch, and it seems unlikely that the stakes would have been cut/snapped off flush with the base of the cut, rather than at least some of them being pulled out.
